Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.

Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Raleigh follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I had an exceptional experience at this office and with Dr. Hoverstad and his staff. Dr. Hoverstad is extremely patient, professional, and kind in his approach to the work. He did an excellent job with my very aytpical and year+ long oral surgery journey. Staff members like Wendy and Caroline made an effort to build a personal relationship with me and helped ease the entire process. Dr. Hoverstad's expertise, attention to detail, and humor made the process smooth and I can't thank him enough!

I was blown away by how comfortable I was throughout the entire process from the consult to my extraction. I was absolutely petrified to see an oral surgeon. I had consulted one in the past that made my fears even worse, and I was a ball of nerves walking in. But when I arrived and met the staff, and spoke to the doctor, I knew immediately this was going to be a different experience, and it really was. My consult was not rushed, my fears were taken seriously and discussed until I felt safe and ready to move on. I felt respected and not like an annoyance as I had previously experienced elsewhere. The procedure was nothing like I expected. It was quick, and painless with quality communication throughout. I am going back for an implant and I have zero concerns because I know I will be well taken care of. I highly recommend them not only for how well they do the work, but for anyone with high anxiety regarding dental work.

I was extremely pleased with my first visit to Raleigh Oral Surgery and Dental Implants. I had a horrible experience with a previous oral surgeon that left me in tears when I left. I never went back. I was very nervous when I first arrived, but the ladies at the front desk are so nice and made me feel more at ease. I was taken care of by Dr. Milewski and his nurse Caroline (so sorry if I spelled that wrong). Both of them were very kind and treated me so well. They were very patient and answered all my questions. The level of professionalism and genuine care really made a difference for me. I will be going back in June to have my wisdom teeth removed and I feel way more at ease now. Thank you all for the wonderful experience!
